Modern Alternatives LLC is a holistic health center that offers a variety of services and products to promote wellness and assist clients in managing stress and chronic health conditions through complementary and alternative medicine modalities.
While we are not physicians and not a substitute for traditional medical care, many people are able to improve their health and reduce or eliminate reliance on prescription drugs by utilizing these services.
Services to improve health
Our services include Float Pod, Massage, Functional Medicine Nutrition counseling, health coaching, biofeedback, supplement recommendations, PEMF mat, and Halotherapy (salt room). We also offer holistic health care items for sale in our retail center.
Tracy Peterson, MS, LPC, CFNC
Tracy has been interested in alternative and complementary medicine for some time after experiencing her own issues with autoimmunity. Tracy is a certified functional nutrition counselor and is also a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor. She is a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, Certified Halotherapist, Certified PEMF professional, and Certified HeartMath Professional.
Tracy provides mental health therapy services as well in cooperation with Compass Counseling. She provides treatment for eating disorders, anxiety and depression as well as other areas through a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and EMDR. She takes some insurances as well as self-pay.
While she is trained to work with people with most health concerns, Tracy has a particular interest in autoimmunity, chronic illness and pain, mental health, and digestive concerns.

My name is Amy Sandbom and I am a licensed massage therapist at Modern Alternatives. My background is 23 years of psychiatric social work. I am trauma-informed and able to work with this.
I am trained in Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy, and can use hot stones. If interested, I would love to help you feel better!
I enjoy spending time with my family and gardening when not working.

My practice philosophy includes customizing an individualized, holistic experience for your self-care & wellness needs. Human touch is one of the oldest healing modalities known to man. I employ a balance of eastern & western practice modalities & evidence-based practice supporting your opportunities for healing. My multifaceted healthcare education & training includes over 20 years as an Usui Reiki Master, licensed & board-certified massage therapist, licensed dental hygienist, and trauma informed practitioner. My focused approach is balancing the science of healing touch with the "art" of providing compassionate, dignified, kind & caring service.
I have been involved in healthcare practice for over 35 years, as a therapeutic care provider, administrator, researcher, consultant & educator. My services include Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) care; Reiki, Swedish & deep tissue massage & temporomandibular joint (TMJ) work. Using aromatherapy, hot stones, & Reiki are wonderful additions to the healing experience. Returning to providing direct client care while allowing for compassionate, supportive & respectful contact is deeply rewarding.
